The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) appreciates your insight and efforts to develop a tool that can record personal health information to assist with monitoring health outcomes for people with disability. The NDIA is very excited by the range of initiatives that are emerging independently in the community.
The NDIA would be happy to provide information about the resource available through your website to participants who have identified health related goals in their NDIS plans.

In my judgement ‘MyCare’ has great potential to be a very practical assistance to disabled patients and their carers, as well as to their many medical and disability service providers.Dr Tony Atkins AM

Having heard the stories from the parents of our Variety children, Variety can see the value of utilising MyCare as a tool to centralise a child’s records.

Helping Hand Is Here is a great resource that will help create an online community for people with a disability and their families together with the disability sector. This is especially important in the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

This is an outstanding portable storage tool which will equip and organise people with disability or medical condition, their carers and family as well as individuals with healthcare needs. It will provide easily updated and ongoing records of individual care needs. Records will provide instant answers to doctors and specialists during often rushed check-ups. To have specialist reports, x-rays, documents on hand will stream line care support in a more time efficient way.

As a carer of a 21 year old son with profound disabilities, I recognise the value of what Michelle has put together and how much her approach will help people with disability, their carer and family as well as individuals with healthcare needs.

I have found Michelle is absolutely brilliant. The expert help and care you receive is one in a million. I have been blessed by Michelle in relation to Surgery’s my daughter has had and is having, the information given has truly guided and grounded me and given me faith to trust, and to know what to expect when we go to hospital, words cannot express how truly grateful I am for your help.

Michelle appeared in my life (out of nowhere). If she arrived 2 weeks earlier, I would not have known anything about her, her struggles, her knowledge and her amazing wish to help others.
My daughter had just given birth to a beautiful, extra needs baby boy and had had no warning that her new addition to the family would require very different care, more times in hospital and many varied doctors’ appointments, than any of her previous babies required. Just chatting about this situation with Michelle, she was able to alleviate this Nana’s concerns and because of her firsthand experience, was able to give me clear and simple suggestions and advice that I was able to share with my daughter. Michelle (and her knowledge sharing) came at exactly the right time. I suppose the very special nature is that, knowing it is relevant now and it is a relief to know that it will be relevant as my baby Grandson grows and his requirements change. Thank you Michelle.

It is not until people find themselves in a time of need that the support networks around them come to the force. It is then that they have a sense of urgency and without the proper guidance can be bounced between medical experts, some of whom appear to care less. Being listened to is overstated in its importance. Michelle is so valuable and her value to the community is not measurable in dollars.

Michelle has been very helpful to myself in regards to my 10yr old son, places, funding and information I had never heard of before. I now have access to various respite and funding services as well as many contacts at the royal children’s hospital. The support Michelle has given to me and my family is forever appreciative and I know where to go if I need to know anything in regards to my son’s disability!!! Well done and keep up the fantastic work!! Xoxo
